Discover the Faceless Women
You will find some examples here of my Faceless Women collection. When I first started drawing, I used flowers to practice and learn my technique. I soon realised that the petals could just as easily become the folds of fabric. This led me to drawing people, but unlike most, I was more interested in the clothing than the person. Removing the face creates a new aspect for the viewer and enables you to put yourself in the attire. When a face is seen in a piece of work, your eyes are drawn to the facial features. I want you to see the whole piece. By replacing the face with something different, you get to take in the whole picture.
